Hi,
Currently I'm running the Digivue Xview4 and I've found it to be rather lacking. Digivue is pretty unresponsive to my questions also. The frame rate sucks even with just 4 cameras.

So I am looking at stepping up to the Geovision GV-1480 and paving the way for future upgrades. However, I've noticed that the Geovision card comes in both PCI and PCI Express. Is there any performance benefit in going to the PCI-Express? Or am I just future proofing the hardware as PCI is starting to diminish?

Thanks,
Steve
Hi Steve,

The Geovison GV-1480 is a great choice.  We get an enormous amount of positive feedback regarding all their cards.  As you mentioned Geovision offers both PCI and PCI express cards.  You probably won’t notice a difference between the two, unless you were using multiple applications on the same PC simultaneously.

According to Geovison the PCI express cards will have a faster data transaction.  In turn this will use less of your processors resources.   And that is the reason why you would only notice a difference when running other applications on the same computer.
