Hi there guys, I recently purchased a CTI DICO-D3602B PCI Card and have got the server up and working great, this card is a great product and the software works pretty well, what stinks is the manual that comes with the software.

What I need to do is connect to the server through the internet, I have been able to connect through the LAN but not the internet.

There is something in the software called a webserver and it points to the directory "C:\DICO\wwwroot" which has an index file and is obviously what I need to use but I have no idea what to do to connect to this.

Tried contacting CTI but there support is non-existent and there website has not been updated in a long, long time.
Chris,

Please call us direct when you get a chance. We will get one of the CTI techs on the line with your to help you with this issue.

After a lot of messing around I finally figured it out:

1) I went into my routers and firewalls configuration and set the port 2000 to be open (2000 is the servers default, you can change this in the software).

2) I went to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com and found out what the internet ip of the surveillence server was.

3)On the client machine I simply put in the ip address that was found at the above address and the user name/password and it connected just fine.

Hope that helps out anyone else that has that problem, it is actually really easy to do, slapped myself on the head a few times.
Well done Chris. Now I'm going to piggy-back this thread for my problem with the Dico software. (Hope you don't mind).

Very similar problem to yours, but no matter what I do the remote software won't connect. Tried all the things you did but still no luck. Probably 'cos I'm a computer idiot!!!!

As I live in the UK, is there a landline number in the US that I can call to get some help? Doubtless the 800 number will be charged when calling from abroad.

Cheers

Steve
