Hi,
I would like to monitor my workshop and barn which is about 200 ft or so from my house. I would like the recorder and monitor to be in the house. Is it possible to run CPI cables ( I believe those are the ones that carry both video and power) over such a distance and not lose resolution ?
Also, would they have to be buried in some sort of protective shield ?
Hi PixelM,

No, it is not possible to run CPI cables for a distance of 200 ft as they have maximum range of 150 feet.

However, our experts can find you the most viable/optimal solution. Please contact us on any one of the following channels for assistance. You could speak to Jeffrey or Anna. We would love to be of service to you.

PixelM, This is Chris. For distances over 150 feet, we recommend using Siamese cable, which is sold by 500FT rolls. However, you may experience both, poor video quality or voltage drop. To overcome this, you may have to use a video amplifier to amplify the video signals. The voltage drop can only be fixed by a thicker wire, which we call heavy gauge wire.
