Hi,
Welcome to the board CFAcomputers.
We are not sure why you are getting a hard drive for such a new Nuvico DVR. We normally do not have this type of issue with Nuvico DVR’s. However we have forwarded this message to the Nuvico technical support department and are awaiting their reply.
Please let us know the exact Nuvico model that you have, as this might be helpful to the Nuvico tech support team in order to determine some troubleshooting steps you can take.
Meanwhile we would like to point out that your unit is fully under warranty. If you purchased your DVR thru us, please give us a call. We will issue you an RMA number, so your can return this unit back for either repair or replacement depending on the problem.
Thank you,
SV team

'HDD Fail' message on your main screen indicates the actual HDD on your system has failed. most of cases, it is a physical failure of the hard disk drive and it need to be replaced.
Most of the time, using UPS power backup helps a lot to prevent HDD failure.
Hope it helped.
