I would like to buy a ALL DIGITAL 16 COLOR INDOOR DOME CAMERA SYSTEM WITH 250GB & BUILT IN DVD-RW DRIVE CPCAM DVR but I have two questions. 1.- If I buy this system with a 500GB hard disk how long does it last recording (days)?. 2.- This system brings dome cameras but I don't know which is the quality of these cameras can anyone tell me the quality or compare with other cameras?

Thanks
LARRY
Larry,

If you buy that system with 500gb Hard drive, the system should give you aroud 5-7 days of recording, but if you set up the DVR for motion activation only, then you'll get more days out of it, depending upon how much motion activity you get.  Secondly, the system comes with a standard dome cameras with 380TV lines of resolution and these cameras are for indoor use only.  Smile

Actually you don't need to calculate it manually, there are special tools for it, like CCTV Design Tool. Use second page of it and specify video compression to calculate how many days your disk can store.

Apart from it, with this software you can also find better camera positions.
